The church of Christ...

• Has ONE founder which is Jesus Christ - Matthew 16:18. 

• Has ONE origin which is the day of Pentecost in A.D. 33 - Acts 2. 

• Has ONE authority which is the Bible - Ephesians 2:19-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

• Has ONE way of becoming a member which is through baptism - Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:11-13; Galatians 3:26-27; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2:38-47.

When looking for a church to call home, ask yourself the following  

 

• "Who is the founder?" - If it is anyone besides Christ, then it is not the ONE true Church. 

• "What is the origin?" - If the church has another origin besides Pentecost in A.D. 33, then it is not the ONE true Church. 

• "What is the authority?" - If the church has any other authority besides the Bible such as a creed book, rule book, doctrinal handbook, etc., then it is not the ONE true Church.

• "How do I become a member?" - If the church has any other way of becoming a part of that church besides being united with Christ in baptism, then it is not the ONE true Church.

We are not just another church, but those who attend the Vermillion church of Christ are one congregation of many that are a part of that ONE true Church.
